Terms and Conditions

Austin Kannada Sangha Camping 2024 Event Waiver
Event Dates: September 14-15, 2024
Location: Emma Long Metropolitan Park

1. Acknowledgment of Risk:
"I acknowledge that participation in the Austin Kannada Sangha camping event, including activities at Emma Long Metropolitan Park, involves inherent risks, including but not limited to camping, hiking, water activities in the Colorado River, and the consumption of food. I voluntarily assume full responsibility for any risks of loss, property damage, or personal injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or my family members as a result of participating in this event."

2. Compliance with Park Rules and Regulations:
"I agree to adhere to all rules and regulations set forth by Emma Long Metropolitan Park. I understand that if I or my family members violate these rules, Austin Kannada Sangha is not responsible for any consequences resulting from such violations, including but not limited to fines or legal actions."

3. Water Activities:
"I acknowledge that the Colorado River is accessible at the campsite and that any participation in water activities is at my own risk. I understand that it is my sole responsibility to supervise my family members, including children, during such activities, and I release Austin Kannada Sangha from any liability related to accidents, injuries, or incidents that may occur in or around the water."

4. Alcohol Use:
"I understand that the consumption of alcohol must comply with park rules and regulations. I agree to take full responsibility for my own actions and those of my family members related to alcohol consumption. I acknowledge that Austin Kannada Sangha is not responsible for monitoring alcohol use or any incidents that may arise as a result of alcohol consumption."

5. Agreement on Behalf of Family Members:
"By registering for this event and selecting the checkbox to agree to these terms, I am confirming my acceptance of this waiver on behalf of myself and all my family members attending the event. I confirm that I have the authority to agree to these terms and conditions for each member of my family, including minors."

6. Release of Liability:
"In consideration of being permitted to participate in the camping event, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Austin Kannada Sangha, its board members, officers, volunteers, agents, and other participants (collectively referred to as 'the Organizers') from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or my family members, or to any property belonging to us, whether caused by the negligence of the Organizers or otherwise, while participating in the event or while on the premises where the event is conducted."

7. Medical Treatment:
"I consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary in the event of injury, accident, or illness during the camping event. I understand that I am responsible for all medical costs incurred as a result of such treatment. I agree that Austin Kannada Sangha and its representatives are not responsible for the costs of any medical treatment provided during the event."

8. Photography and Media Consent:
"I grant Austin Kannada Sangha permission to use photographs, videos, or recordings taken during the event for promotional purposes, including on social media, websites, and other marketing materials, without compensation. I understand that I have the right to request not to be photographed or recorded."

9. Indemnification:
"I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizers from any loss, liability, damage, or costs, including court costs and attorney's fees, that may result from my participation or the participation of my family members in the camping event."

10. Governing Law:
"This waiver and release shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas. Any legal action arising out of or related to this waiver shall be brought in the courts of Travis/ Williamson County, Texas."

11. Consent for Communication:

"I consent to the creation of a WhatsApp group by Austin Kannada Sangha for the purpose of communicating event-related information. I agree to be added to this group, and I understand that this will be used solely for updates, coordination, and important announcements regarding the camping event."

12. Agreement to Terms:
"By selecting the checkbox during registration, I acknowledge that I have read and understood the above waiver and release, and I agree to all its terms and conditions. I understand that by agreeing to this waiver, I am giving up significant legal rights, including the right to sue the Organizers."
